Each year the Parks and Recreation Department hosts a FREE outdoor Kid Fish Fest. This is an outreach program designed to educate and provide hands-on fishing experiences to children of all ages. We have partnered with Bass Pro Shop to provide children the opportunity to participate in educational demonstrations about fishing, conservation and respect for their environment, including the fish and other anglers. The pond is generously stocked prior to fishing in order to increase the children's odds of a memorable fishing experience.
We encourage you to bring your fishing rod, reel, bait and tackle. Limited supplies will be available - first come, first serve. Volunteers will be on hand to assist the children in catching the fish too.
Children with Special Needs and their families are invited to join us from 8am - 9am for private fishing on the pond. Portable fishing tanks will also be available for your convenience.
