In addition to the Dock Diving competition, Paws in the Parks hosted teams from across the nation competing in the US Dog Disc Nationals and Lure Coursing.  We also had several demonstrations throughout the weekend and pet related exhibitors on-hand. Exhibitor applications for next year's Paws in the Park will be available in January 2011.

Lure Coursing!
New this year Paws in the Park hosted Pearland’s first Lure Coursing Competition!  All proceeds from this competition benefit the Canine Cancer Foundation.
What is Lure Coursing? Lure Coursing is a pre-designed course that has at least four turns and is approximately 600 yards. The course has a mechanical lure, usually a piece of cloth made of a fox tail. The operator moves the lure by remote and entices the dog to chase "the prey."

Start preparing your dog to enter a competition or one of our lovable pet contests at next year's Paws in the Park!
